If there are a number of different sounds being produced simultaneously, the resulting intensity is the sum of the individual intensities. How many decibels louder is the sound of quintuplets crying than the sound of one baby crying?

    Formula: Δ L = 10 * log n.

    Δ L = level difference.

    n = number of equal loud sound sources.

    n = 5

    10 * log10 5 = + 6.9897 dB compared to the case that only one source is available.
