    If you use the formula A=R^2π

    You get 63.617251 ..., but if it tells you to use 3.14 for pi you get 63.585 and if you leave in in terms of pi you get 20.25 (I didn’t round any of these numbers)

    So the formula for area of a circle is A=π r² where A is area and r is radius. The radius is half the diameter so take 9 and divide it by 2, giving you 4.5. So plug that into your formula and solve:

    A=π 4.5²

    A=π 20.25

    A = 63.62 (when rounded to the nearest hundredth).
