Add the y so they cancel out and leave you with: 5x=15

    Divide the 5: x=3

Plug in the value x in any of the two equations and solve to get the value of y

(I'm picking the first one just cause)

    3 (3) - y = 8

    Multiply: 9 - y = 9

    Solve: y = 0

    Answer: (3,0)
