The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 96 square feet. its length is 4 feet longer than twice its width. find the length and width of the wall of the barn?

    Area = 96

    width = x

    length = 2x + 4

    x (2x + 4) = 96

    2x^2 + 4x - 96 = 0

    (x - 6) (x + 8) = 0

    x = 6 or x = - 8 (rejected, length cannot be negative)

    x = 6

    2x + 4 = 2 (6) + 4 = 16

    The length is 16 feet and the width is 4 feet
