In a flower garden, there are 5 tulips for every 8 daisies. If there are 40 tulips, how many daisies are there?

    5 tulips to 8 daisies equals 40 tulips for x daisies.

    5/8 = 40/x

    5x = 8 * 40

    5x = 320

    x = 64

    Answer: 64 daisies.
