Jenny wants to know how long the slide is at the playground. She knows the height from the bottom of the ladder to the top of the slide is 6 feet. The bottom of the ladder forms a right angle with the ground. She also measures the distance from the bottom of the ladder to the end of the slide which is 9 feet. What is the length of the slide rounded to the nearest tenth? The slide is approximately? feet long.

    The slide is hypotenuse, the ladder and the distance from the ladder to the end of the side are legs, so we can use Pythagorean theorem

    length of the slide = c,

    c^2 = 9^2+6^2

    c^2=81+36=117

    √117=10.8 ft
