The sum of digits in a two-digit number is 14. If you double the reversed number and add the result to the original number, the sum would be 222. Find the original number.

    The original number is 86. To figure this out we used a guess and check strategy. We looked at all combinations of digits that gave us a sum of 14. When we got to 86, and reverse the digits, we got 136. When we added 136 to 86 it Was 222. We started with seven and seven, and then looked at eight and six and a six and eight. Eight in six was that right combination!
