There are 34 red and black markers in a box. the number of red markers is 4 more than twice the number of black markers. how many red markers are there

    Black pens (b)

    Red pens (2b+4)

    b + (2b+4) = 34

    3b+4=34

    3b=30

    b=10

    Black pens=10

    Red pens = 10 + (2x10) + 4=24

    10+24=34
