At one farmer's market per bag. Which explains how to find the better buy? t, bananas cost $0.80 per pound. At another farmer's market, bananas are sold in 5-pound bags for $4.50

    Per bag is the better buy. If a bag costs $0.80 per pound, and at the other market 5 pounds costs $4.50, you multiply $0.80 by 5 and it gives you 4. The difference is $0.50

    If you buy a banana for $.80per pound it's better than buying the 5 pounds worth of bananas.

    if you do. 80 + 5 pounds, it equals $4.00. This is better than $4.50
