    45 and 1/4 ounce becuase you subtract 2 from 48 giving you 46. Then subtract 3/4 from 46 giving you 45.25.

    1 pound = 16 oz

    2pound = 32 oz

    3/4pound = 3 of 16/4 = 3•4=12

    He has 32+12 = 44 oz

    He needs 48 so it needs 48-44 = 4 more oz
