A rectangular prism has a volume of 840 cubic inches. The height of the prism is 6 inches and the width is 10 inches. Find the length of the prism and explain how you found it.

    The volume of rectangular prism = length x height x width

    so sub in the above equation we get

    840 = length x 6 x 10

    length = 840 / (60 x 10)

    length = 14 inches
