    P = 2 (L + W)

    P = 48

    48 = 2 (L + W)

    48/2 = L + W

    24 = L + W

    24 - L = W

    A = L * W

    A = 135

    135 = L (24 - L)

    135 = 24L - L^2

    L^2 - 24L + 135 = 0

    (L - 9) (L - 15) = 0

    L - 9 = 0 24 - L = W

    L = 9 24 - 9 = W

    15 = W

    L - 15 = 0 24 - L = W

    L = 15 24 - 15 = W

    9 = W

    the dimensions : either the length is 9 cm and the width is 15 cm ... or the length is 15 cm and the width is 9 cm.
