The area of a triangle is 1440 cm^2. the base of the triangle is 5 times the height. what is the height of the triangle?

    Height = "h"

    Triangle Area =.5 * base * height

    1,440 =.5 * 5h * h

    1,440 = 2.5 h^2

    576 = h ^2

    height = 24 centimeters

    and the base is therefore 120 centimeters

    Double Check

    base = 120 cm

    height 24 cm

    area =.5 * 120 * 24

    area = 1,440
