    For standard form or standard notation writing,

    the first value that is multiplied by 10ⁿ should only be in between the range of 1 - 9.9

    So rewriting 25 x 10⁶ in standard form will be

    2.5 x 10⁵

    10 is to the power of 5 because we moved a decimal place to the left in 25 making it 2.5
