    Total = $35

    After buying the cake,

    $35 - $18 = $17

    Number of balloons he can buy:

    17 : 4 = 4.25

    So, he can buy4 balloons.

    4 ballons = 4x4 = $16

    So amount left = $17 - $16 = $1

    35 - 18 = 17

    The number 4 can fit into the number 17 4 times. 4 x 4 = 16

    Therefore, Abit will only have $1 left over.
