    When you say that two angles are complementary, that simply means that the sum of those individual angles is equal to 90°. Thus, the sum of ∠JKL and ∠MNP is 90°.

    (2x - 3) + (5x + 2) = 90

    7x - 1 = 90

    7x = 91

    x = 91/7 = 13

    ∠JKL = 2 (13) - 3 = 23°

    ∠MNP = 5 (13) + 2 = 67°
