Sarah sights the top of the statue of the liberty at an angle of elevation of 61 degrees. If Sarah is 5.5 feet tall and is standing 166 feet from the base of the statue, find its height

    Angle of elevation = 61°

    Height of Sarah = h = 5.5ft

    Distance (from base of statue) between Sarah and statue = 166 ft

    Now,

    tan (61°) = H/166

    H = 299.47 ft

    but in the height H you also add the height of of Sarah then you get the height of statue.

    Height of statue of the liberty = H+h

    = 299.47+5.5

    = 304.97 ft
