In Davidson Corporation, the first shift produced 8½ times as many lightbulbs as the second shift. If the total lightbulbs produced was 24,700, how many lightbulbs were produced on the second shift?

    8 1/2=17/2=8.5

    24,700 divided by 8.5=2,905,8823

    OR

    24,700:17/2 = 24,700x2/17=2,905,8823
