When dealing with roots, what is the radicand? Before or after taking the indicated root?

    The radicand is any number/value/expression under the root,

    Example:

    √ (19); radicand 19

    ³√ (3x - 2); radicand (3x-2)

    ⁴√ (x²+2x-4); radicand (x²+2x-4)
