    a.

    f = total cab fare

    m = distance travelled

    f = 2 + 0.50m

    b.

    7.50 = 2 + 0.50m

    c.

    7.50 = 2 + 0.50m

    7.50 - 2 = 0.50m

    5.50 = 0.50m

    5.50/0.50 = m

    m = 11

    Sara travelled 11 miles.

    d.

    f = 2 + 0.50m

    f = 2 + 0.50 x 10

    f = 2 + 5

    f = 7

    When the cab fare is over $7.00 on the holidays, $1 is discounted off the fare.

    e.

    Yes, Lupe traveled more than 10 miles. (refer to calculations used in c.)
