    7:8 ... added = 15

    7/15 (300) = 2100/15 = 140 apples

    8/15 (300) = 2400/15 = 160 peaches

    if 50 apples and 40 peaches are sold ...

    apples : 140 - 50 = 90

    peaches : 160 - 40 = 120

    ratio of remaining is : 90/120 which reduces to 3/4 or 3:4 or 3 to 4 <==
