The diameter of q small gear is 16 cm. This is 2.5 cm more than 0.25 of the diameter of a larger gear. What is the diameter of the larger gear?

    If x is the diameter of a larger gear, then 0.25x+2.5=16

    0.25x=16-2.5

    0.25x=13.5

    x=54

    Answer: the diameter of a larger gear is 54 cm
