At a pizza eating competition, Down at two more than twice as many slices as the runner-up. If down at 11 slices, then how many slices did the runner-up eat?

    The runner up ate 4.5 slices of pizza.

    Work:

    2x + 2 = 11

    -2 - 2

    2x=9

    9 divided by 2 = 4.5
