    To find the area of the shaded region, you will use the information about the circumference to solve for the diameter. You will then use the information about the diameter to find the area.

    C = pi x d

    125.66 = 3.14d

    d = 40 cm

    A = pi x r^2

    3.14 x 20^2

    A = 1256 square cm

    4/5 x 1256 = 1004.8

    The area is 1004.8 square cm.
