If the expression is r+S*2, then you are correct in saying that the answer is 6

    If the expression is r+S^2, then it would be 4+1^2 = 4+1 = 5

The difference of the two expressions is that the S*2 has been changed to S^2

    S*2 = s times 2

    S^2 = s squared
