150 - 8d = 175 - 10d

-8d + 10d = 175 - 150

2d = 25

d = 25/2

d = 12.5 ... so each dvd costs 12.50

150 - 8 (12.5) = 150 - 100 = 50

175 - 10 (12.5) = 175 - 125 = 50

so they will each have 50 bucks left on their card
