Mr. and Mrs. Delgado each own an equal number of shares of a stock. Mr. Delgado sells one-third of his shares for $2700. What was the value of Mr. and Mrs. Gelgados stock before the sale?

    3x2700=Just Mr. Delgado's shares' value = $8100

    Since they own an equal number of shares, their total value of stock before the sale is two times what each of them has separately.
