A submarine has an elevation of - 35 meters compared to sea level. It then makes 3 equal descents of 145 meters each. Is the final depth of the submarine greater than 500 meters. Explain how you solved the problem.

    No, the decent isn't greater than 500 m because - 145*3+-35 = - 470 which is less than 500.
