Is 2 (6-3x) + x equivalent to 2 (3x) + x?

    No, when you multiply 3x by two you get 6 but nowhere in there it says to subtract, and when you multiply 2 times x you get 2x, and it's not the answer you are looking for

    No because the first one simplifies into - 5x+12 or 12-5x and the second one simplifies into 7x
