Angela works 18 hours a week for 12 weeks in the summer at the local swimming pool as a life guard. She earns $13 per hour. Her employer takes 15 percent out of her check for federal income tax withholding and 6.2 percent for Social Security and 1.45 percent for Medicare. She will receive 12 paychecks, one for each week she works.
