Suppose a laboratory has 26g sample of polonium-210. The half life of polonium is about 138 days. how many half lives of polonium 210 occur in 276 days? How much polonium is is in the sample 276 days later?

    138 * 2 = 276 days which equals TWO half-lives. After 2 half-lives a radioactive sample will have one quarter of its mass remaining. Therefore, after 276 days, there will be 6.5 grams remaining.
