Find the number of degrees in an angle which is 42 degrees less than its complement

    A = angle your are looking for

    C = its complement angle

    A + C = 90

    A + 42 = C

    Add both equation:

    A + C + A + 42 = 90 + C

    so

    A + A = 90 - 42

    2A = 48

    so A = 24
