One number is two more than a second number. twice the first is 4 less than 3 times the second. find the two numbers.

    Set an equation:

    First number: x+2

    Second number: x

    2 (x+2) + 4=3x

    2x+4+4=3x

    8=x

    Answers:

    First number:10

    Second number: 8
