Suppose three candidates are running in the texas democratic primary for governor. what happens if candidate x wins 45% of the vote, candidate y receives 30% of the vote, and candidate z wins 25% of the vote?

    Winners in primary elections in TX are determined by majority vote. If no candidate receives 50% of the vote, then the top 2 candidates proceed to a run-off election.

    So in the above problem, since nobody received the majority vote of 50%, the candidate X and candidate Y are going to proceed to a run-off election to determine the democratic candidate for governor
