For a randomly selected driver, are the events " driving while using a cell phone " and " having a traffic accident" independent events? Explain your answer.

    The events " driving while using a cell phone " and " having a traffic accident" are not independent events. In contrast, these events are dependent, because the probability the event " having a traffic accident" to happen depends on the event " driving while using a cell phone ". There is a bigger probability for accident if the driver uses cell phone, because he is distracted and not focused.
