We are asked in this problem to simplify the expression (1 - sin2 (x)) tan (-x). We can see that there is a double angle trigonometric function here. sin 2x is equal to 2 sinx cosx while tan (-x) is equal to - sin x / cos x in which when substituted,

    (1 - 2 sinx cosx) * (-sin x/cosx)

    -sinx/cos x + 2sin^2 (x)

    -tan x + 2sin^2 (x)
