Josephine was asked to make a one-fiftieth scale model of the new water tower for her town. She constructed the model that is shown below.

The height is 2.25ft and 1.25 feet is the width

What is the height of the town's new water tower in feet? Round to the nearest whole number.

    A scale of one filthiest would be written as 1:50,

    this means for every foot of the model would be 50 feet for the actual tower

    so you would multiply the dimensions of the tower by 50 get the actual dimensions.

    height: 2.25 ft x 50 = 112.50 feet high = 113 feet (rounded)

    width: 1.25 x 50 = 62.5 feet wide = 63 feet (rounded)
