Solve the system of equations y = 3x - 5 and y = 1 3 x + 3 using a graphical method.

    Plot these 2 separate functions on the same set of coordinate axes.

    first one: y = 3x - 5. Slope is 3 and y-intercept is - 5. Start at (0,-5), move your pencil from that dot 1 unit to the right and then 3 units up. Plot another dot there. Draw a str. line thru these 2 dots.

    Do the same thing for the other: y = 13x + 3. Slope is 13, y-intercept is 3.

    From your graph of these 2 lines, you should be able to determine visually the coordinates of the pt. of intersection.
