Move all terms containing xx to the left side of the equation. Since 5x5x contains the variable to solve for, move it to the left side of the equation by subtracting 5x5x from both sides. 6x-3-5x=-56x-3-5x=-5Subtract 5x5x from 6x6x to get xx. x-3=-5x-3=-5Move all terms not containing xx to the right side of the equation. Since - 3-3 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right side of the equation by adding 33 to both sides. x=3-5x=3-5Subtract 55 from 33 to get - 2-2. x=-2
