    Let n = the number of shovels.

    Total selling price = $7,300

    Total cost = $5,500

    Total profit = $7300 - 5500 = $1,800

    Because the profit is $50 per shovel, therefore the total profit is $50*n.

    That is,

    50n = 1800

    n = 1800/50 = 36

    Answer: 36
