Ben collected 8 identical cubes, each of which has a surface area of 24 square inches. He assembled the 8 cubes to f o rm one larger cube. What is the volume, in cubic inches, of the large cube?

    Because the are identical cubes, they have the same volume, meaning you only have to find the volume of one of the cubes. if they have a surface area of 24 square inches, use this equation: the square root of (x/6). You would get 4 for the area of 1 side, and 2 for the legnth of one side. Then, multiply them to get the volume: 2 times 2 times 2: 8. Then multiply by 3 to get the area of the larger figure: 24 cubic inches.
