    Step 1

    Let’s assume a and b are the sides of the parallelogram. The perimeter of the parallelogram = 2 (a + b)

    Step 2

    According to the question, one side of the parallelogram exceeds the other side by 10 cm.

    Therefore, a = b + 10

    Step 3

    Since, the perimeter of the parallelogram = 180 cm

    Therefore, 2 (a + b) = 180

    = 2 (b + 10 + b) = 180

    = (2b + 10) = 180/2

    = 2b = 90 - 10

    = b = 80 / 2

    b = 40 cm

    a = b + 10 = 40 + 10 = 50 cm

    Hence, the sides of the parallelogram are 40 cm and 50 cm.
