If the total distance is 0.8km we need to multiply that amount by the proportion that she ran, which was 0.25 (one quarter or 25%). So 0.8km x 0.25 = 0.2km Looking another way, the word 'of' often means the same as 'multiply', so 0.25 of 0.8km = 0.25 x 0.8km = 0.2km Joanie ran a total of 0.2km during her lunch break.
