21 girls, 25 freshmen, 6 non freshmen girls, 17 boys, 38 people total.

25/38 + the 6 non freshman girls

31/38 chance of picking a girl of a freshmen.

I think the events are overlapping because a freshman can be a boy as well as a girl.
