Given that the expression is:
(2x/7) + (12/14)
We may simplify it by addition. Before adding, we must make the denominators of both of the fractions the same, for which we use the lowest common multiple. The LCM of 7 and 14 is 14. Therefore:
4x/14 + 12/14
The ratio works out to be:
(4x + 12) / 14
