The length if a rectangle is 3cm greater than it's width. The perimeter is 24 cm. what are the dimensions if a rectangle?

    Perimeter = 2w+2l

    24=2w+2l

    l=w+3

    Substitute for l

    24=2w+2 (w+3)

    24=2w+2w+6

    24=4w+6

    18=4w

    4.5=w

    Plug in w value

    l=4.5+3

    l=7.5

    Final answer: length=7.5 cm, width=4.5 cm
