Georgia is comparing two accounting firms to do their books. Money Plus charges $85 per hour plus a one time fee of $305 for accounting services. Uncle Sam says Hey charges $65 per hour with a one time fee of $425 for accounting services. Write and solve an equation to determine how many hours each company have to work for their costs to be equal?

    Let ‘n’ be the no. Of hours:

    85n+305 = 65n+425

    85n = 65n+425-305

    85n = 65n+120

    85n-65n = 120

    20n = 120

    n = 120/20 = 6 hours

    Therefore, Each company has to work 6 hours for their cost to be equal.
