Susan makes and sells purses. The purses cost her $12 each to make, and she sells them for $25. This Saturday, she is renting a booth at a craft fair for $60. Write an equation that can be used to se how many purses Susan needs to sell to make a profit of 250

    Profit = revenue - expenses

    250 = 25x - (12x + 60)

    250 = 25x - 12x - 60

    250 = 13x - 60

    250 + 60 = 13x

    310 = 13x

    310/13 = x

    23.85 = x ... so she would have to sell 24 purses
