Trevor was going to the pet store to get a new dog. The store had 56 animals. If 3/7 of them were dogs, how many dogs does this pet store have?

    The pet store has 24 dogs. To solve make a proportion. 3/7 = ?/56. Cross multiply 3 and 56 and get 168. Then divide 168 by 7 to receive 24 as an answer.
