How can you use place - value blocks and a hundred chart to show the number that is ten more than 43? what is the number

    To show this you would start with showing 43 using blocks. You would need 4 groups of 10 and 3 groups of 1 block. If you add one more group of 10 to this you will see that there are 5 tens now and still 3 ones (53).

    If you used 10 x 10 boxes (100), you would shade in 4 rows of 10 to start and 3 individual boxes. Then add one more row or column if 10 to show 53.
